Danny E. Guisinger

Lima

Danny E. Guisinger, 74, died at 12:05 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 26, 1934, in Lima to John and Mary Isabelle Roberts Guisinger, who preceded him in death. On Feb. 7, 1955, he married Patricia Reed, who survives in Lima.

Mr. Guisinger was a member of the Northwest Ohio Field & Stream, Spencerville, and the National Rifle Association. He loved woodworking and restoring antique furniture. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1952 to 1956.

Survivors also include four daughters, Becky (Carl) Stevens, of Spencerville, Rita (Randy) Brown, of Selma, N.C., Anna (Lind) Nagel, of Columbus, and Tina (Ronald) Elsass Jr., of Perrysburg; a son, Danny (Suzanne) Guisinger Jr., of Jupiter, Fla.; two brothers, Larry (Peggy) Guisinger, of Lima, and Gary (Paula) Guisinger, of Colorado; a sister, Carolyn (Melvin) Numbers, of Elida; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two aunts, Thelma Hawk and Jean (Wayne) Deal, both of Lima.

He was preceded in death by an aunt, Lucille Chiles.

Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Larry Hopkins will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
