Lima -Mabel Marcile Bott, 89, died at 5 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009, at her residence.
She was born July 23, 1920, in Putnam County, to Robert and Mary Burnette Sybert, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 7, 1948, she married her second husband, Charles L. Bott, who died Oct. 19, 1999.
Mrs. Bott retired from Zale’s Jewelers in 1982, where she worked as a bookkeeper. She attended Bluelick Bible Church, Lima. She enjoyed cooking, doing crafts and playing Bingo. She loved spending time with family.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth L. (Kathy) Bott, of Columbus Grove, and Charles R. Bott, of Lima; a daughter, Joyce A. Winkeljohn, of Lima; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; a brother-in-law, Ralph (Millie) Bott, of Newcastle, Pa.; and close friend, Vernie Hoffer, of Lima.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Byron, Carl, Curry, John and George Sybert; seven sisters, Ann Scafe, Helen Swisher, Ida Turner, Marie Huffman, Dorothy O’Hare, Pauline Sybert and Betty Markijohn; a daughter, Nancy K. Shark; and her first husband, Russell O’Hare in 1945.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Jim Neighbors will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Monroe Cemetery, Continental.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
