Milo D. “Mike” Rumbaugh

Lima - Milo D. “Mike” Rumbaugh, 94, died at 6:45 a.m. Oct. 29, 2009, at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.
He was born April 4, 1915, in Auglaize County to Glen and Carola Edwards Rumbaugh, who preceded him in death. On July 1, 1934, he married Helen M. Bowsher, who died Sept. 4, 2006. They were married for 72 years.
Mr. Rumbaugh was born on a Good Friday in a house on Boundry Road in Auglaize County. He was a 1933 graduate of Shawnee High School. He was a third generation member of Perry United Methodist Church, where he served in several offices. He was a lifelong farmer and still owned the family farm which was purchased in 1894. He was the first no-till farmer in Perry Township. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Allen Soil and Water Conservation District. He was a Perry Township trustee for eight years and was one of the founders of the Perry Township Fire Department, where he had been a volunteer firefighter. He had been a bus driver for Perry schools. He and his wife enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include two daughters, Carole (Pat) Connor, of Lafayette, and Diane (Rick) Dick, of Lima; 12 grandchildren, Duke (Debbie) Mauk, Darla (Ken) Barzyk, Marla Bolen, Kenyon (Theresa) Mauk, Kyle Mauk, Kelly (Tim) Spallinger, Kathy (David) Whitaker, Kevin (Michelle) Connor, Krista (Chad) Valenti, Mike Dick (Laurie) Rumbaugh, Eric (Sandra) Dick and Zachary Dick (Meghan) Rumbaugh; 33 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Merlin (JoAnn) Rumbaugh.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Serelda Sue Welker; and a sister, June Kerr.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Perry United Methodist Church. Pastor David Burkhart will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Perry United Methodist Church.
