Dangerous crashes with deers
When a deer and a vehicle collide, the deer almost always gets the worst of it.
Such is not the case when the vehicle happens to be a motorcycle. A couple of incidents in Indiana in the past month indicate this. In both crashes, motorcyclists were killed when they struck a deer.
One incident occurred in Fort Wayne on Interstate 469 not far from where it intersects with I-69. The other one occurred near Valparaiso when a cyclist hit a deer near U.S. 30.
Neither cyclist was wearing a helmet when they hit the deer.
Four wildlife officers sworn in
Four northwest Ohio gentlemen were among 17 Ohio wildlife officers who were recently sworn in and will be serving in at-large capacities in the state.
Michael Ohlrich of Liberty Center and Matthew Teders of Ottawa will be officers at-large in northwest Ohio while Cody Klima of Ottawa and Jason Keller of New Bremen will serve as officers-at-large in southwest Ohio.
