KENTON — Maty Mauk is the most prolific touchdown passer in the history of Ohio high school football.
Mauk passed for seven touchdowns in Friday’s 64-42 Western Buckeye League victory over Bath on Kenton’s homecoming night. Mauk’s touchdown passes gave him 181 TD passes for his career. Mauk’s brother Ben previously held the OHSAA touchdown passing record of 178.
Maty Mauk has 30 touchdown passes this season.
Mauk finished with 411 passing yards, completing 20-of-28 passes and he ran for 220 yards on 13 carries.
Meanwhile, Bath’s Aaron Smith rushed for 242 yards on 42 carries and scored on runs of 3 and 29 yards. Bath quarterback Brad Davis had a 2-yard touchdown run and an 8-yard touchdown pass. Keanu James added a 37-yard touchdown run and teammate Cody Schuerman had a 3-yard scoring run.
Bath is 4-3 overall and 3-3 in the WBL. Kenton stays unbeaten at 7-0, 6-0.
