Kahn recognized at conference
During a national leadership symposium held in Atlanta, Georgia, Experience Works honored Ohio State Program Manager Kent Kahn of Lima, for his achievements in providing outstanding leadership in the implementation of the Putting Experience to Work Program.
Experience Works is a national nonprofit organization, which provides employment, training, and community service opportunities for individuals age 55 and older, and operates in 30 states and Puerto Rico, including 34 Ohio counties. The Putting Experience to Work Program helps unemployed or underemployed people age 50 and over living in the greater Toledo area, who need additional training to compete for available jobs. Funded through the Walmart Foundation, Putting Experience to Works is operated in conjunction with Experience Works Senior Community Service Employment Program which currently provides services to more than 500 older workers in Ohio.
USV grad wins award
Upper Scioto Valley graduate Cheryl Lawrence McDaniel won a 2014 Brava! award by Smart CEO.
Lawrence McDaniel is the founder and co-owner with her husband, David, of Direct Success Inc. a pharmaceutical marketing support company headquartered in New Jersey. With more than 150 employees in New Jersey and Florida facilities, the company is opening an additional location in Bellefontaine in the fall of 2014.
Lawrence McDaniel has bachelor and master degrees from Miami University, in Oxford.

Gardner joins The Therapeutic Touch II
Rebecca Gardner, a licensed massage therapist, has joined The Therapeutic Touch II, in Elida.
She is a graduate of Upledger Institute International, where she was certified in cranial-sacral therapy 1 and 2 and Reiki 1 and 2. She also graduated from Bradenburg Massage Therapy and is certified in both equine and canine massage.

Midwest Electric hires staff accountant
Coreen Ott has been named staff accountant at Midwest Electric. She is responsible for payroll, governmental and tax reports, accounts payable, reconciling bank accounts; and general ledger, work order and other accounting duties.
For the past fifteen years, Ott has been a staff accountant at Mark J. Cisco & Co., CPA, in New Bremen. Prior to that, she spent five years at Omni Manufacturing in St. Marys.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Tiffin University and holds a CPA license.
Ott and her husband Mike live east of St. Marys.
Berney named director of sales
Matt Berney has assumed the director of sales position effective July 1, 2014 at Range Kleen Mfg.
Berney has been with Range Kleen Mfg. for almost 15 years starting out in the information technology department in July of 1999. He then went to the operations department as director of operations and created the standard operating procedures that yielded results and attention to details and execution. He also spearheaded initiatives going green, by replacing the lighting throughout the company to make more efficient use and reducing energy usage and working closely with the shipping department and freight companies to focus on reducing carbon footprints and reducing the usage of resources.
For the past 10 years, Berney has been working in sales in various roles at trade shows. He has been known for his role as the Range Kleen Pizza Man at the International Housewares Association Show and has been featured in the past in HFN and ESPN publications.
Range Kleen Mfg., Inc., of Lima manufactures household products sold to major retail chains globally since 1971.
Harting promoted to sergeant
Patrolman Dan Harting has been promoted to sergeant by the Celina Police Department.
Harting scored the highest combined score on the civil service test and assessment. Sgt. Harting is the K-9 handler for Celina police and has been serving the citizens of Celina as a police officer since 1996.
