To the editor:

July 3 was a beautiful evening, as hundreds of residents and visitors enjoyed an evening of music provided by the Patriots Symphonic Band under the direction of Harry Pfingsten, performing on the steps of Wellington’s historic town hall. Thank you to Mike Sunderman of Edward Jones Investments for his generous support sponsoring the event and free American flags for the concert-goers.

Main Street Wellington would like to thank Village Market and Velvet Ice Cream for the donation of ice cream and cones that were enjoyed by the concert attendees.

Thanks also to our tireless volunteers who helped by scooping ice cream, selling beverages, and distributing information at the event.

Thank you to the many concert-goers who made contributions to help support Main Street Wellington’s programs. Your generosity is very much appreciated.

Finally we would like to thank mayor Barbara O’Keefe, village administrator Steve Pyles, Wellington village council, public works director Bob Brassee, and the village employees for their help preparing the downtown for these events and their continuing efforts every day to make Wellington’s historic downtown a place residents can be proud to call their hometown.

Again, our thanks to everyone who helped make this a memorable event.
