Knouff has low round at junior tourney

LIMA — Emily Knouff had the low round of the day winning the girls 16-18 division with a 74 at the

Lima Junior Golf Association - McDonald’s Junior Series Eagles Aerie #370 Classic at Hidden Creek Golf Club on Thursday.

Joshah Rager had the low boys’ round with a 75 on the par 72 course to win the 14-15 division. Kaleb Kuhn won the boys 16-18 division with a 77. Austin Radcliff won the boys 12-13 event with a 41 over nine holes and Jill Schmitmeyer won the girls 15 and under with a 42 on the par 36 layout.

Carter Bowman defeated Spencer Stubbs and Xavier Francis in a playoff for second place in the boys 16-18 division after the trio each shot an 80. Other runners up were Adam Gerker (boys 12-13) with a 47, Sam Reed (boys 14-15) with a 79, Mary Kelly Mulcahy (girls 15 and under) with a 42 and Jennifer Mitchell (girls 16-18) with an 88.

Tony Hobensack of Lima defeated Brent Crone of Van Wert 2 and 1 at Hawthorne Hills on Tuesday.
