The Liberty Community Children’s Center is set to kick off its annual Week of the Young Child on Monday.
The theme of this year’s event is Kids in Motion, according to teaching assistant Mary Lewis.
“This is something that we’ve been doing forever here,” she told The Gazette. “It’s something that the parents get involved, and everyone gets involved.”
The festivities kick off with a parade on Monday.
Tuesday is parent appreciation day and the children’s center looks to get kids active through jumping and bouncing.
Students are encouraged to bring bikes, scooters and skateboards on Wednesday to get their exercise.
Thursday the children will receive a lesson in fun ways to exercise from the owner of the Jungle Gymnastics Adventure Center.
The events conclude Friday with a dance for the students.
“Everything is going to revolve around child,” Lewis said.
The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
