Wauseon musicians perform in honors’ bands

Eric D. Boswell, the Director of Bands at Wauseon Schools has some news to share to the community.

On Friday, Nov. 15, five students from the Wauseon Middle School Band are performing at the BGSU Middle School Honor Band. These students worked all day to prepare their music, then have a concert Friday evening. The concert will feature the BGSU Middle School Honor Band as well as the BGSU Wind Symphony.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. in BGSU’s Kobacker Hall. It is free and open to the public. Wauseon Middle School students involved in the BGSU Honor Band include Lance Jutze, clarinet; Lucas Blanchong, tuba Karli Callahan, bassoon; Rebekah Rees, bass and Clarinet Paige Moden, trombone.

On Sunday afternoon, two students will be performing in the OMEA Regional Orchestra being held at Perrysburg High School. Sophomore Sean Baker on tuba and junior Bailey Hardy on trombone, have been accepted into this group via live audition.

These students will practice all day on Saturday. The concert will begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Perrysburg High School. Congratulations to these young musicians.
