Swan, Peebles exchange vows in July

SHERWOOD - On Saturday, July 27, at half past 4 p.m., Julie Kristene Swan married Freddy Herrick Peebles Jr. at St. John Lutheran Church in Sherwood. The Rev. Mark DeLassus officiated the ceremonies.

The bride is the daughter of Franklin and Kelly Phillips of Sherwood and James and Diane Swan of Ft. Wayne, Ind. The groom is the son of Fred and Gloria Peebles Sr. of Wauseon.

The bride was given in marriage by James Swan, father of the bride and Franklin Phillips, step-father of the bride.

The bride wore an Alfred Angelo design of soft-ivory organza, with a drop waist and chiffon full length gown, featuring embroidered lace, crystal beading, sequins, rhinestones and three dimensional flowers with a sweetheart neckline, chapel length train and three tiered lace appliques. There was a fingertip veil with lace flower appliques.

The bride’s bouquet was hand-tied in teal ribbon antique brooch pin which belonged to her great-grandmother, with hydrangeas, purple lisianthus, hypercium berries, hot pink roses, teal calla lilies and willow stems.

The bride was attended by Nicole Spangler, Napoleon, a friend of the bride as Maid of Honor. Matrons of Honor were Jenny Meyer of Bryan and Robin Morhart of Hicksville, both friends of the bride. The bridesmaids were Jodie Swan, Sherwood, sister of the bride; Ashlea Harter, Swanton, friend of the bride; Kelley Peebles, Swanton, sister-in-law of the groom; Kaitlin Switzer, Defiance, friend of the bride and Jackie Brown, Defiance, friend of the bride.

Junior bridesmaids were Taylor Peebles, Van Wert, niece of the groom and Breanna Vance, Sherwood, cousin of the bride. The flower girl was Grace Peebles, the daughter of Clint and Shelley Peebles of Swanton, niece of the groom. The ring bearer was Anthony Phillips, the son of Jon and Enian Phillips of Piqua, nephew of the bride.

The groom had his brother, Clint Peebles of Swanton as Best Man. The groomsmen were David Pickard, Wauseon, friend of the groom; Brad Rittenhouse, Napoleon, friend of the groom; Troy Mahnke, Wauseon, friend of the groom;Matt Funk, Delta, friend of the groom; Jake Bernath, Swanton, friend of the groom and Abe Jacob, Defiance, a friend of the bride. Ushers were Andrew and Justin Swan, Ft. Wayne, Ind., brothers of the bride; Brandon, Brian, Brogan and Collin Vance, Sherwood, cousins of the bride.

The organist was Myra Guilford, soloist Kelley Phillips, mother of the bride; and additional vocals from Kylee Seibert of Bowling Green; Emily Luderman of Ayersville and Morgan Pendleton of Bryan. The pews were adorned with arrangements of white baby’s breath, hot pink roses with teal ribbon sashes. At the alter were lit candles and vases of willow branches with white baby’s breath and hot pink roses.

The reception, at the UAW Hall in Defiance, was attended by 400 guests. The couple honeymooned in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The couple now resides in West Unity.
