Dueling pianos to entertain at fundraiser

August 9, 2013

LIMA — Residents don’t have many chances to check out dueling pianos in this area — but here’s one.

Lima’s Samaritan House, a shelter for women and children, is holding a fundraiser Wednesday evening that will feature dueling pianos.

This is the fourth year for the dueling pianos from Aces Wild, and it’s been a good fit, said Brandi Schroeder, assistant director of the organization. The piano players — who actually will play electronic keyboards — even enjoy it, she said.

“They enjoy our crowds so much also that by the end of the event, he had it marked on his calendar ( for the following year),” Schroeder said.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and a silent auction will continue to 8 p.m. Schroeder mentioned a trip to Nashville, a snowblower and a collection of vintage toys as being some of the interesting auction items.

Food and food service is donated by Panera Bread, and Jeff Fitzgerald will MC. Proceeds benefit the shelter.

Tickets will be available at the door, if the event is not sold out. Call Samaritan House at 419-222-4663 for details.
