90th Birthday: Robert Neumeier

ADA — Robert “Bob” Neumeier will celebrate his 90th birthday Aug. 7, 2013. A celebration is planned from 2 to 4 p.m., today, Aug. 4th, at Dennis and Bev Neumeier’s house in Lafayette.

He was born Aug. 7, 1923, in Lima to Alois and Anna (Prochaska) Neumeier. On Sept. 3, 1954, he married M. Jeanette Long, and she died July 31, 2006.

Neumeier has four sons, John (Vickie) Neumeier, of Maria Stein, Dennis (Bev) Neumeier, of Lafayette, Micheal Neumeier, of Ada and James Neumeier, of Lima. One daughter, Shari Hicks, is deceased. He has nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He retired from Westinghouse Small Motor Division in 1985, after 58 years of service.

Neumeier occasionaly attended Maysville United Methodist Church.

He is an avid polka dancer, played lead guitar in the Senior Citizens Band and is a founding member of the Tune Toppers Band. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoys playing his guitar and listening to music.
