Pop into ArtSpace/Lima downtown for a new exhibition titled “ArtSpace/Pops 2013: A Fine Craft Invitational” opening Friday and running through Sept. 14. A reception is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 10.


The National Trappers Convention and Sports Show continues through Sunday at the Allen County Fairgrounds. There are more than 150 vendors. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through today and Sunday morning only. A band plays 9 p.m. to midnight today. Admission is $10 for adults.


The Lima Area Concert Band will give a performance at 6 p.m. Sunday at Lakeshore Park, Celina. Admission is free. Bring a lawn chair.


Woodcarving Under the Evening Sky begins at 7 p.m. Monday at Ottawa Metro Park’s Wyandot Shelter, 2632 Ada Road, Lima. Beginners to the hobby are welcome.


National Night Out is taking place in two places in town. Check out activities all day in Town Square or activities from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Park, 2092 Reed Road, Lima.


Summertime Skate will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Edgewood Skate Arena, 2170 Edgewood Drive, Lima. Admission is $1.


A Big Band dance will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Eagles Aerie 370 at 800 W. Robb Ave., Lima. The Al Best Band will entertain. Admission is free.
