Jack Schrolucke

Jack Schrolucke, 63, died at 12:19 a.m. July 11, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born June 24, 1950, in Lima, the son of Robert E. and Rosemary J. Sutton Schrolucke, who preceded him in death. On July 21, 1972, he married Dianna S. Seibert, who survives.

Other survivors include three children, Scott (Tamara) Schrolucke, Trent (Paula) Schrolucke and Keeley (Kevin) Layman, all of Spencerville; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three siblings, the Rev. Rex (Suzanne) Schrolucke, of Williamsburg, Jack’s twin, Judy (Archie) Sawmiller, of Spencerville, and John (Cathy) Schrolucke, of Glendale, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack retired as a tool maker from the Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant, after 30 years service. He later worked at Dana Corp., Lima, as a cutter grinder. A graduate of Spencerville High School, Jack served with the Army in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bowersock Brothers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772, American Legion Post 191 and the Field & Stream, all in Spencerville. He was a co-founder of the Spencerville Youth Athletic Association and coached midget football, Little League baseball and girls softball. He enjoyed fishing and watching auto racing at various local tracks, especially Eldora Speedway.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. The Rev. Rex Schrolucke will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Monticello, with military rites by the Spencerville Veterans.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
