Student hit by truck

LIMA - A driver struck an 11-year-old girl crossing the street Thursday near Lima North Middle School.

Eleven-year-old Jetta Dunlap was crossing the street within a crosswalk at about 3:45 p.m. Thursday at North West Street and West O’Connor Avenue. Kaleb Craig-Groves, 18, of Lima, drove his truck through the intersection and hit her. Witnesses reported seeing Jetta go completely underneath the truck.

Lima Fire Department took Jetta to St. Rita’s Medical Center, where she was treated and released. Craig-Groves was issued a traffic citation. Lima North Middle School officials declined comment.
