BLUFFTON — Marilyn D. Harrod, 75, died at 1:40 a.m. April 25, 2013, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
She was born Jan. 9, 1938, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Leonard and Diane Elizabeth Frierson Cunningham, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 27, 1960, she married James R. Harrod, who died Feb. 8, 1993.
Mrs. Harrod graduated in 1960 with her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nebraska. She was a teacher with Lima City Schools from 1983 to 1997. Her memberships included Trinity United Methodist Church, Lost Creek Country Club, the Lotus Club and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Survivors include a son, James R. Harrod Jr., of Bluffton; a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Harrod, of Dublin; and two grandchildren, Samantha L. Harrod and James R. Harrod III.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Bryan Bucher will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
