Esther E. McClellan
Esther E. McClellan, 96, died at 4:35 a.m. April 5, 2013, at Lima Convalescent Home.
She was born Sept. 15, 1916, in Lima to Ray and Effie Rumbaugh Clemans. She married Charles R. “Mac” McClellan on June 21, 1947, and he died July 18, 1998.
Esther had worked as a bookkeeper with Ciminillo’s Produce and Import Foods for 19 years, from which she retired. She previously worked with her husband for 18 years at McCellan’s Union Oil Co. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and it’s Lydia Guild. She was also a member of Lima Allen County React and the Civil Air Patrol.
Survivors include nephews, David (Carolyn) Clemans, of Findlay, and Steven (Debbie) Clemans, of Carolina Shores, N.C., and their families; a niece, Sue (William) Wellbaum, of Englewood, Fla., and her family; guardian, Jane Cheuvront, who Esther and Mac referred to as their “adopted daughter by heart”, of Wake Forest, N.C; close friends, Charles (Carole) Cheuvront, of Lima, Joshua Cheuvront, of Wake Forest, N.C., Jacob (Sanjana) Cheuvront, of Boston, and Justin (Bethanie) Cheuvront, of Wake Forest, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, and a brother, Lloyd Clemans.
Graveside services were held in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. George Pirtle officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Hospice, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
Also, a thank-you to the staff at Lochhaven Apartments and Lima Convalescent Home for the wonderful care given to Esther over the past several years.
