Man gets 20 years prison for raping children; more than 60 years total

March 7, 2013

LIMA — A man who raped children in three counties was sentenced to 20 more years Wednesday to be stacked on top of a term from another county and anything else he receives.

Travis Quinter, 33, has to serve at least 60 years in prison with his 40-year term from Auglaize County added the term he received Wednesday.

Quinter’s troubles are not over, however. He faces 33 criminal counts in Mercer County, as well.

Quinter offered a brief and tearful statement during his sentencing.

“I’m sorry for what I did,” he said.

Quinter’s attorney, Greg Donohue, said Quinter gave a full confession to police.

Quinter was sentenced on two counts of rape in Allen County. In the Auglaize County case, he was convicted of four counts of rape.

In the Allen County case, Quinter raped two children younger than 13 between Nov. 1, 2011, and March 31, a prosecutor said.

Quinter has a pretrial scheduled for March 14 in his remaining case in Mercer County.
