After voting, take advantage of some of the great meals being served around this area.
Whether your taste runs to breakfast foods or a baked steak dinner, the offerings are available in abundance. Below are the times and places serving up some of your favorite Election Day treats.
At Bluffton First United Methodist Church, lunch and dinner will be served on Tuesday in the fellowship hall, 116 Church St., Bluffton. Carry-outs are available for both meals. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and feature homemade soups, sandwiches, salads and desserts. Pricing is a la carte. Dinner will be offered from 4:30 to 7 p.m., and include baked steak, mashed potatoes, vegetable, roll, dessert and beverage. Cost for dinner is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 10 and younger.
The Columbus Grove VFW Post 9648 will host an Election Day dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Post, 218 E. Sycamore St., Columbus Grove. Carry-outs are available. Cost for the dinner is $8 adults and $5 children.
The annual Election Day lunch will be held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Lafayette First United Methodist Church, 204 W. Main St., Lafayette. Carry-outs will be available. Menu includes homemade vegetable soup, chili, shredded chicken sandwiches, hotdogs, salad bar, desserts and beverage. Cost is by donation. New this year, holiday candles will be on sale.
The HY HO Club will host an Election Day bake sale and 50/50 raffle from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Bradfield Community Center, 550 S. Collett St., Lima. Proceeds from the sale will go to the HY HO Scholarship Fund.
Ottawa Boy Scout Troop 224 will hold its annual pancake and sausage dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Ottawa VFW. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children.
A baked steak dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Pandaora United Methodist Church, on state Route 12 in Pandora. The menu includes baked steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, a dessert bar and beverages. Carry-outs are available. Cost is $7 adults and $3.50 for 3 to 12 years. Children younger than 3 years eat free.
The Perry Township Historical Society will host its fifth annual Election Day meal from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at 2703 Greely Chapel Road, at the corner of Hanthorn Road. Breakfast items include a breakfast casserole or doughnuts, all priced a la carte. Lunch and dinner options include a loaded potato, beef and noodles with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, chili, hot dogs and beverages, also priced a la carte. Coffee is free. Deliveries can be made for orders of more than $10 at 419-371-8881.
At Roundhead United Methodist Church, located on the corner of state Routes 117 and 385, food will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdsay. The menu includes chicken and noodles, chili, hot dogs or coneys, sloppy joes, shredded chicken sandwiches, pie and beverages. Carry-outs are available. Sponsored by the Roundhead United Methodist Women, cost is by donation.
St. Mark United Methodist Church will serve an Election Day meal from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church, 1110 N. Metcalf St., Lima. Menu, with a la carte pricing, includes chili, ham and bean soup, beef vegetable soup, hot dogs or coneys, sloppy joe and chicken sandwiches, cornbread, bar cookies and beverages. Also going on during that time, “Trinkets, Treasures and Tempting Treats” bazaar with homemade baked goods, a cookbook corner, homemade Buckeyes and noodles.
Trinity United Methodist Church will host a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children 6 to 12 years, and free for children under 6 years. The church is located at 301 W. Market St., Lima.
The Westminster United Methodist Church will serve an Election Day dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, 6666 Faulkner Road, Harrod. The menu includes homemade chicken and noodles, homemade beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, dinner roll, dessert and beverage. Carry-outs will be available. Cost is by donation.
