State patrol seeks trooper applicants

VAN WERTThe Ohio State Highway Patrol is accepting applications for anyone who wants to try to be a state trooper.Applications will be accepted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Van Wert post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol at 10234 Van Wert-Decatur Road.State patrol recruiters will be available to discuss a career with the patrol and provide an informational packet.The state patrol has three academy classes, Sept. 12, Nov. 7 and one planned sometime in February.Anyone interested must be between the ages of 20 to 34 years old, hold a valid driverís license and have a high school diploma or GED diploma. Applicants must pass a written test, background check, polygraph exam, medical examination, physical fitness assessment and a psychological evaluation.
