Judge grants second evaluation for man charged in murder case

LIMA A man police officials said strangled his girlfriend wants a second psychological exam.An attorney for Raymond Collins, 51, asked for a second exam after receiving the first examination report back. The results of that report was not made public Monday during a brief hearing. Judge Jeffrey Reed granted the request and placed the case on hold pending the results of the second test. Collins has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to murder. He is charged in the January death of his girlfriend, 43-year-old Teresa Burge. Police officers found her dead in her home at 1119 E. Holmes Ave. on Jan. 27. Investigators said they believe she had been dead for a few days.Police officers became aware of her death after an employee of a local hospital called to say a man at the hospital said he strangled his girlfriend, a detective said.
