David Lee DeLashmutt told The Lima News he knows exactly what he would do if he won the $540 million (that’s more than a half billion dollars, folks) Mega Millions jackpot today.

“I would pick myself up off the floor, cash the check, divvy it up with my kids, and smile, baby, smile.” DeLashmutt said.

Here’s what others told The Lima News on Facebook:

“I’d share with the church, pay off this mobile home and build a house, pay all debts, get trust funds for kids’ education, give to scholarships, sit a chunk in the bank to work for me (interest).” — Stacey Price, ofRockford

“Finish paying off my car, buy a bigger one (growing kids) then build a house. I would have to share with my mamma too, since she paid for the silly thing.” — Kristen M. Sinica Frueh, of Lima

“Turn in my resignation!” — Joyce HuntDavis, of Lima

“Pay off the debt I have and my parents’ debt, quit my job and go on a very extended vacation.” — Julia Sulkin

“If I won the lottery, I would pay off student loans, all of my debt, pay off my parents’ and in-law’s houses, buy a house and give to schools and charities.” — Sami Torres

“Give a million dollars to my church, buy all my family, sons, daughter, grandchildren, sisters and brother new homes and vehicles. Set up scholarship funds for college for people that can not afford it but want to go there. There would be so much you could do! It would be mind boggling!” -- Reida Foust

“My husband has said that he would panic. Probably, would not believe he won the Jackpot. What a great thing to happen to someone.” -- Kristin Hefner

“Pay taxes then invest it wisely.” -- Sheila Maryann Freund.

“I would definitely invest quite a bit to children's charities, i.e. Ronald McDonald house, St. Jude's, etc. Some to local churches in my town. And of course my family.” -- Megan Grothause

“I would pay off my children’s student loans first!! It wasn't their fault we encouraged them to go to college! Of course our church would benefit! And anyone that was my friend when I was “poor” would still be my friend when I am “rich.” --Tammy Ream
