LIMA — No one was seriously hurt early Tuesday after a student at the University of Northwestern Ohio lost control of his car and crashed into a dorm building, police and school officials said.It all happened shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday at Northwestern Park dorms 23 and 24, according to Stephanie Davis, director of public relations and marketing at UNOH.“The driver, Cody Livengood, is a UNOH student,” Davis said. “He is enrolled in early morning classes at UNOH, which take place from 12 a.m. to 6:30 a.m., and he was running late back to class from a break and lost control of his vehicle.”Livengood's vehicle went up over a sidewalk, through a decorative row of bricks and into the facade of the dorm. Davis said the university had yet to determine a damage estimate.A dozen students — six from each dorm — were displaced after the crash and relocated to different dorms on campus, Davis said.Maj. Chip Protsman, of the Lima Police Department, said Livengood was cited for reckless operation on private property. Davis said Livengood was also cited by UNOH Safety Services. You can comment on this story at www.limaohio.com.
