WAYNESFIELDA Lima man was caught breaking into a house near Waynesfield on Saturday night and chased out of the house, Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said Tuesday.Solomon said it happened shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday at a house on Santa Fe Line Road, just outside of Waynesfield. The man fled after being confronted by the homeowner. A deputy responding to the scene observed the a vehicle fleeing and pulled the vehicle over on northbound Interstate 75 at Fourth Street after backup arrived, Solomon said.Darrell G. Purdy, 23, of Lima, was arrested and charged with burglary, Solomon said.According to Solomon, a neighbor noticed a vehicle in the driveway of the house and called the homeowner to returned to the house and found Purdy inside. The homeowner attempted to keep Purdy there until deputies arrived.
