Letter: Obama, Democrats threaten country

II am glad to see some true representation of the people's will in Ohio. House Speaker John Boehner, Rep. Jim Jordan and other conservative members of the House are trying to save our country from a financial meltdown. How much longer can we afford to pay huge sums of interest to foreign countries to sustain our debt? President Barack Obama and the Democratic-controlled Senate's mentality of tax-and-spend plans are bringing this nation's finances to its knees. We can't continue to take more from the rich (the people who pay 90 percent of the federal tax now and create jobs) and give to everybody else (those who help to create federal debt). An increase of $2 trillion of debt in two years is a fiscal nightmare and unsustainable. The economy, which creates tax revenue, has been in a downward spiral for several years, and Obama says we need to spend more money. I just don't understand that way of thinking. This reckless, out-of-control spending is costing taxpayers 40 cents in interest for every dollar we pay. If we weren't paying almost half our federal taxes for borrowed money, we could possibly have plenty of revenue for Medicare and Social Security. I believe a huge cut in federal spending and a constitutional amendment to create a balanced budget is the only way to save our economy. If we fail to get this budget under control, we face huge problems soon. Contact your representatives and let them know your views. Don't wait any longer; it may be too late already. Remember to always vote for those who best represent us, our state and our constitutional laws.
