HarrodMildred B. Waltz, 93, died June 18, 2011, at Tendercare of Marshall.She was born March 7, 1918, in Harrod, to Howard and Bertha Chambers Binkley, who preceded her in death. She married Charles Waltz, who preceded her in death. They were married for 53 years.Mrs. Waltz had lived in Chicago, Ohio, and Burlington, Mich. She enjoyed working outside her home, working for Randall Foods for five years, secretary to the Marlee School Board of Education, secretary to the director of nurses at the Battle Creek Sanitarium for six years and secretary to director of nurses at Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in Washington, D.C., for four years. She enjoyed crafts and handiwork. She was an avid Tigers and Pistons fan. She was a member of the Union Church United Church of Christ.Survivors include a son, Randy (Leslie) Waltz, of Tekonsha, Mich.; four grandchildren, Alisha Carr, Brooks Blanton, Candace Waltz and John Waltz; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter (Bettie) Binkley; a niece; a nephew; and special friend, Fred Erard.A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. July 16 at the Union Church United Church of Christ in Tekonsha, Mich. The Rev.
