WAPAKONETAEric David Hayes, 21, died March 16, 2011, at his home.He was born Dec. 11, 1989, in Lima to Steven and Lara Waitman Hayes, who survive in Lakeview.Mr. Hayes had worked at New Vision Labs as a microbiology technician. He was a 2008 graduate of Waynesfield-Goshen High School, where he was the co-valedictorian. He was a graduate of the University of Northwestern Ohio with an associate degree in business and was nearing completion of his bachelor's degree in business at UNOH as well. He was registered to start in September at The Ohio State University in the pre-medical program with his goal to become a forensic pathologist. He was an avid reader; he enjoyed poetry, novels and medical journals. He had a love for music across many genres, as well as photography, science and medicine, and he enjoyed the fine arts. He loved boating and water sports, but above all he loved to spend time playing with his daughter, Lilium, who was the love of his life.Survivors also include a daughter, Lilium Grace Hayes, of Woodville; a brother, Steven (Nicole) Hayes, of Wapakoneta; paternal grandparents, Keith and Alice Palmer, of Wapakoneta; maternal grandparents, Paul and Joretta Waitman, of Wapakoneta; and a nephew, Isacc Hayes.Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Armentrout Funeral Home, Waynesfield. The Rev. Kathleen Hayes will officiate.
