Letter: Blame for 9/11 attacks goes beyond terrorists

The terrorists held everyone hostage and crashed the planes into the World Trade Center. They held everyone hostage on the planes that crashed into the Pentagon and at Shanksville, Pa. Who else was responsible for these attacks? I believe a number of political people were at fault, and I charge them with neglect. We were definitely a target for the enemy. Our government hired the security company that probably was never put through a background check. This company hired people who were not responsible and were negligent in performing their duties. I have a concealed carry permit. I was probably put through a more thorough background check than any of the people I mentioned. I went through 12 hours of class. Sometimes I think our government needs a fine toothed background check. If you look real hard, there were more people guilty than the terrorists involved in this tragedy. The way I see it, if our own government would have done its job, none of this would have happened.
