LimaThe Rev. Richard E. Steigleder, 74, died at 3:58 p.m. Dec. 30, 2011, at Kindred Hospital, Lima.He was born Jan. 25, 1937, in Cincinnati to William and Neva B. Marsh Steigleder, who preceded him in death. On Jan. 20, 1973, he married Judith A. Long, who survives in Lima. She was the love of his life.The Rev. Mr. Steigleder was a graduate of Withrow High School, the University of Cincinnati and the United Methodist Theological Seminary, Delaware, Ohio. He gave leadership to the Lima Area Council on Aging, the Lima-Allen County Community Affairs and Pathfinders. He was a faithful pastor of eight churches in the West Ohio Conference. He was highly regarded as a lab school leader and minster of youth, for whom he harbored hope and expectation. He had a heart for missions, in particular the children of the neighborhood and Grace Children's Hospital in Haiti, where he made 12 trips to during his years of ministry. He and his wife proudly served as hosts of two German exchange students, with whom they have kept in contact with through the years. He enjoyed cross-stitching, reading mystery books and watching old movies.He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Westside United Methodist Church. Bishop C. Joseph Sprague, the Rev. Ronald G. Payne and the Rev.
