ST. MARSY — Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday near St. Marys.
Phyllis Slife, 81, of Sidney, was pronounced dead at the scene and Abigail Hale, 42, of Sidney, was later pronounced dead at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Ronald Brown Jr., 26, of St. Marys and Joan Shoffner, 83, of Sidney, both suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospitals for treatment.
The crash happened about 5 p.m. at the intersection of state Route 219 and state Route 364 in St. Marys Township, the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.
Shoffner was driving south on state Route 364 when she failed to stop at the intersection of state Route 219. She drove into the path of an eastbound vehicle and struck the passenger side, the patrol reported.
Brown was driving a car that struck the side of Shoffner’s pickup truck causing both vehicles to travel into a ditch near the intersection, the patrol reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
