Men fill judicial vacancies

KENTON - Ohio Gov. John Kasich appointed Scott N. Barrett, of Kenton, to serve as judge of the Hardin County Common Pleas Court General and Domestic Relations Division. Barrett will take office March 25. Barrett must run for the seat in November 2014 for the unexpired term which ends Dec. 31, 2016. Barrett is replacing William Hart, who retired. Barrett has been a lawyer since 1976.

The governor also appointed Steven D. Christopher, of Kenton, to the Hardin County Common Pleas Probate and Juvenile Division. He will assume office March 18 and must run in November 2014 for the unexpired term which ends Feb. 8, 2015. Christopher is replacing Judges James Rapp, who retired. Christopher has been an attorney since 1984.
