LIMA — The West Central Ohio Manufacturing Consortium, a group which features some of the area’s most prominent companies, is sponsoring a free course to teach potential employees the skills to enhance their chances for a career in manufacturing.
The 40-hour course will be held from 10 a.m. 3 p.m. Oct. 1 to 24. It will be in session twice a week, Mondays and Fridays, at the Bradfield Community Center in Lima.
Completion of the course will earn the participant referrals, job opening information, invitations to job fairs, networking nights, free computer training and others.
The course covers basic math and measurement, quality, safety in the workplace, resume writing, teamwork, communication and soft skills.
