LIMA — Ten public officials, including former City Council member David Adams and Lima-Allen County Chamber of Commerce president Jed Metzger, gathered at the Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday for the Allen County/Lima Public Officials Dialogue, a project of Allen County Common Threads.
Held once per quarter, this lunch meeting covers a variety of topics of interest in Allen County. Wednesday’s dialogue centered around the Allen County Fair, with fair general manager David Grimm serving as keynote speaker. The idea for the meeting was not only to learn about the state of the Allen County Fair, but also to share memories of fairs gone by.
“Fairs do have a lot of memories for people clear across the country,” Grimm said. “Fifty percent of the population in North America attend fairs, and it’s a fun atmosphere.”
