WAPAKONETA — The Auglaize County Council on Aging hopes to increase public awarness of its services while letting the community have fun this Saturday at the third annual Auglaize County Harvestfest from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds.

“We have all kinds of activities for children, adults and seniors,” Christina Roby, the council’s director, said. “People can come through the east gate entrance, and we’ll have our information booth up front for people with information about our services.”

The event will include pony rides, bouncy houses, face painting and craft projects for the kids, with plenty of shopping and other attractions available for adults.

“There will be over 60 booths there, where people can stop by and pick up items,” Roby said. “We’ve also got a car show this year, and we still have tickets for Sweet Caroline’s chicken and rib dinners. If people want to purchase them, they can contact us at the council.”

Admission is $1 or a non-perishable food item, with all food donated to two county food pantries.

“Those will go to Mercy Unlimited and Agape,” Roby said. “It’s important to us to help others in the county.”
