ADA — The Ada Police Department investigated three separate reports of burglaries on the south side of Ada early Sunday.
Two of the homes were entered while the occupants were sleeping. The burglar was able to steal cash and other personal effects. During the third burglary the occupants were awake as the burglar was in their home and the burglar fled without getting anything from the home.
Within hours of the burglaries, officers questioned a man who was under investigation for other thefts within the village. Finding evidence of a drug offense and other evidence relating to the burglaries, officers arrested Josue “Joey” R. Martinez, 24, of Ada.
Martinez was charged with two counts of burglary, both second-degree felonies, and one count of illegal drug possession, a third-degree felony. An interview of Martinez led to the recovery of several items taken from the homes.
