Nov. 5

Nick A. Salinas, 52, 101½ S. Third St., Continental, pleaded guilty to attempt domestic violence. He faces up to 12 months in prison and $2,500 in fines. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 9:15 a.m. Dec. 11.

Nov. 6

Aaron A. Horstman, 43, 9141 state Route 109, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence with specification, five offenses within 20 years. He faces up to 30 months in prison, $10,000 in fines, and license suspension between three years to life. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 11 a.m. Dec. 8.

Joel T. Hunt, 56, 302 W. Spring St., Apt. 409, Lima, pleaded guilty to theft. He faces up to 18 months in prison and $5,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 11:30 a.m. Dec. 8.

Nov. 7

Tabbetha M. Scott, Continental, and Steven Scott, Jr., Continental, were awarded $117,960 against Grange Mutual Casualty Co., Columbus, for violating the terms of their homeowners insurance contract. They were also awarded $162,130 from the insurance company for acting in bad faith and without reasonable justification following a claim they filed on structural damage to their home from a storm on June 29, 2012.

Nov. 6

Sierra A. Kiessling, 27, 18281 Road I-17, Cloverdale, charged with illegal manufacture/cultivation drugs, a felony, bound over to Common Pleas Court.

Nov. 7

Eric J. Smith, 29, 311 Lima St., Wapakoneta, pleaded guilty to driving under suspension. Sentence: 180 days jail, 150 days suspended, $150 fine. Charges of reckless operation and speeding were dismissed.

Nov. 10

Rodger M. Carpenter, 42, 307 Walcutt St., Dupont, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of no operator’s license. Sentence: $150 fine. A charge of brake lights was dismissed.

Dexter M. Bannister, 24, 2889 Seminole Trail, Lima, pleaded no contest to hit/skip realty-property and was found guilty. Sentence: 180 days jail, 177 days suspended, $375 fine, and restitution of $104.24. A charge of failure to control was dismissed.

Nov. 12

Kevin A. Hocking, 39, 200 Vanbuskirk St., Miller City, charged with rape, a felony, bound over to common pleas court.

Nov. 13

Melinda M. Cox, 40, 108 E. Plum St., Kalida, pleaded no contest to passing bad checks and was found guilty. Sentence: Three days jail, suspended, $50 fine.

Kayla M. Mares, 24, 734 E. Second St., Ottawa, pleaded guilty to criminal damaging. Sentence: 30 days jail, suspended, $150 fine, and no contact with victim for two years.
