UNOH men’s soccer goes to 8-0 in WHAC

LIMA — Michael Gonzalo scored two goals and Carlos Suarez and Jozo Tadic one each as the University of Northwestern Ohio improved to 8-0 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Athletics with a 4-1 victory over University of Michigan-Dearborn (1-11-1, 1-6-1 WHAC).

The Racers are now 12-2-1 overall.

ONU 2, Muskingum 1

NEW CONCORD — Dustin Lorenzo and David Janusz each scored goals for Ohio Northern (11-6-1, 4-2-1 Ohio Athletic Conference) against the Muskies (5-12, 1-6).

Transylvania 2, Bluffton 0

BLUFFTON — The host Beavers were unable to punch a goal in on the top team in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings. The win keeps Transylvania at the top of the HCAC at 5-1-1 and 9-5-1 overall, while the Beavers fell to 2-5 in the conference and 5-12 overall.

Women’s soccer

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — UNOH (13-1-1, 7-1-0 WHAC) suffered its first loss of the season to Davenport University (10-3-3, 4-2-2).

ONU 3, Muskingum 0

ADA — Kristina Klusek, Anna Niemeyer and Michaela Gutierrez all scored goals and teammate Kristina Klusek made nine saves as the Polar Bears improved to 9-6-1 overall, 5-2-0 OAC, while Muskingum fell to 9-6-1 overall and 2-5-0 OAC.

Transylvania 8, Bluffton 4

BLUFFTON — Brittany Huff had two goals and Kenton grad Kenton on a assist by Wapakoneta alum Sarah Lawrence, and Danielle McQuillin had one each for the Beavers (6-11, 4-3 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference).

Volleyball

Bluffton 3, Rose-Hulman 1

BLUFFTON — Senior Ashley Litwiller had a career high of 13 kills as the host Beavers won 25-23, 25-22, 19-25, 25-23. Junior Kendra Parmenter had 20 kills and St. Marys grad Jenny Brown added 10 for Bluffton.

Sara Roth had 53 assists and Lima Central Catholic alum Sydney Mohler had 17 digs also for the Beavers.

ONU 3, Muskingum 1

NEW CONCORD — Junior Kaitlann Hogrefe had a team-high 15 kills and freshman Hannah Davis had 14 kills for Ohio Northern (16-9, 4-3 OAC) in its 24-26, 25-21, 25-21, 25-17 victory.

Sophomore Ashley Borchers dished out a career-high 53 assists and senior Amanda Volosin had a career-high 24 digs for the Polar Bears against the Muskies (15-14, 1-6).

ONU 202, John Carroll 58

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — Ohio Northern improved to 1-0 overall and in the Ohio Athletic Conference while JCU fell to 0-1 overall and in the OAC.

Women’s swimming

John Carroll 153, ONU 109

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — Allison Lohnes led the Polar Bears (0-1 overall and in OAC) by winning the 100 and 200 backstrokes. John Carroll is now 1-0 overall and in the conference.
