LIMA — Due to the increased costs of bringing homes up to housing code standards, the city of Lima has increased the amount of loan funds available for repairs.

The Lima Home Update Loan Program has increased their maximum loan amounts from $15,000 to $24,000 per home.

The funds will assist those living at half, or below, the area median income can receive a zero interest loan.

The income-eligible applicant must be current on their property taxes and have homeowners insurance. The house must be located within the city.

Only properties with major health and safety issues will be assisted, including broken water, sewer and gas lines, no heat source and major roof damage, causing leakage.

For more information about the program, contact the city of Lima Department of Community Development at 419-221-5146.
