HERMAN M. "PINEY" SUEVER, 92, died at midnight April 4, 2006, at VanCrest Health Care Center, Delphos.

He was born Dec. 8, 1913, in Delphos, to Fred and Anna Schwinnen Suever, who preceded him in death. On June 8, 1940, she married Rowena Hesseling, who survives.

Mr. Suever retired from Suever Stone Quarry and had been a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck, and its Holy Name Society. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors also include two sons, Norbert V. "Piney" (Rita) Suever of Landeck and Gerald A. "Jerry" (Rhonda) Suever of Delphos; a daughter, Dorothy J. (David) Hedrick of Delphos; two brothers, Ralph (Margaret) Suever and Irvin (Alice) Suever, both of Delphos; four sisters, Rita Kaverman, Coletta Lause and Ann Lause, all of Delphos, and Imelda Knueve of Monroeville, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Laura (Larry) Reynolds, Kathy (Joe) Kahle, Sandy (Jim) Tomsic, Darlene (Steve) Fischer, Diane (Todd) Teman, Duane (Dena) Hedrick and Elaine Suever; 13 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and Clarence Suever.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck. Fathers John Fleck and Don Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, where a parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
