BARBRA SANDY, ElidaI moved to Elida 36 years ago. It has been my home, my school and my community since 1972. When I moved to the area, one of the things I remember most clearly is all the conversation about the need for a new Elida High School. The conversation continues 36 years later. It’s time to stop talking and start building. It would cost more to renovate the old building than it would to replace it. It’s time to stop paying more to heat the old high school than it does in all the other school district buildings combined. It’s time to stop praying the building doesn’t flood when hard rains come. It’s time to build, with student safety, handicap accessibility, updated technology and heating efficiency in mind.
