Rosemary Chambers Beauford James, 73, died at 9:15 a.m. March 22, 2008, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 10, 1934, in Crawford County, Ala., to York Sr. and Mary Brewer Chambers, who preceded her in death. She first married Henry James Beauford, who preceded her in death. On June 8, 1981, she married Raymond James Sr., who preceded her in death on May 11, 2001.

Mrs. James retired from General Motors Corp. after more than 31 years of service. She was a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, where she worked in the Financial Department. She was a member of Eastern Star, Hy Ho Club and AARP. She was church activities coordinator and was a volunteer at Lima Memorial Health System.

Survivors include four sons, Rodney P. (Bonita A.) Beauford, of Bayton, Texas, Keith D. (Jeri) Beauford, of Centennial, Colo., Marcus (Candice) James, of Cincinnati, and Raymond James Jr., of Lima; three daughters, Dena Y. Drayton, of Houston, Texas, Annetta J. Beauford, of Atlanta, and Brenda F. Beauford, of Lima; a brother, York Chambers Jr., of Lima; two sisters, Frances Williams, of Lima, and Catherine Haskins, of Lima; and 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Victor James Beauford; a brother, Leroy Chambers; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

Services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Austin E. Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where the family will be present from noon until 1 p.m.
