Rita E. Pflueger, 73, died at 4:43 p.m. Nov. 7, 2007, at her residence.
She was born May 17, 1934, in Lakeview to Francis Earl and Anna Estelle Golliday Sloan, who preceded her in death. On March 2, 1957, she married William Gene Pflueger, who died July 7, 1997.
Mrs. Pflueger was a homemaker and had been an X-ray technician at St. Rita's Medical Center for 20 years. She was a 50-year member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. She attended St. Patrick Grade School, Bellefontaine and was a 1952 graduate of Bellefontaine High School.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Sandy) Pflueger, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two daughters, Julie Pflueger, who was her caregiver, and Jean (Dale) Pflueger-Hagler, both of Lima; three granddaughters, Katie Pflueger, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kelly and Kiley Hagler, both of Lima; a sister, Beatrice A. (William B.) Herman; six nieces and nephews, Cynthia (Gary) Doner, of Toledo, John (Debbie) Herman, of Huber Heights, James (Donna) Herman, of Dayton, Ellen (Taylor) McGaughey, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., David (Tami) Herman, of Beavercreek, and Thomas (Cathy) Herman, of Vandalia; and 14 great-nieces and -nephews and three great-great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Pflueger.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Father George Blasick will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Hills Cemetery, New Hampshire, Ohio.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, where a parish wake service will be held at 4 p.m.
