Michael Dean Hawk, 57, died Aug. 3, 2007, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 31, 1949, in Lima to Carl and Mary Ellen McAdow Hawk, who preceded him in death. He was married to Claudine Sawmiller, who survives in Spencerville. On June 12, 1991, he married Susan Allgire, who survives in Columbus Grove.
Mr. Hawk was a terminal specialist at the Husky Lima Refinery. He was a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton. He was a graduate of Spencerville High School. He was a life member of PACE International Union Local 5-624. He ran in the Boston Marathon and was an avid woodworker.
Survivors also include two sons, Steven (Allison) Hawk and Shaun Hawk, both of Spencerville; two stepsons, Christopher (Cassie) Snyder, of Columbus Grove, and Joseph (Dawn) Snyder, of Yuba City, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Amanda (Tim) Basinger, of Pandora, and Annalisa Lyons, of Columbus Grove; a sister, Carla (Greg) Binkley, of Spencerville; two half brothers, Roger Gaskill, of Spencerville, and Ed Hawk, of Lima; three half sisters, Sue (Denny) Latham, of Uniopolis, Ruth Ladd, of Florida, and Marilyn (Mike) Devita, of Lima; his stepmother, Shirley Gaskill, of Spencerville; and 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a half sister, Betty Ann Harbert, and his stepfather, Earl Gaskill Jr.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton. The Rev. Roger Ford will officiate. Burial will be in Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton Chapel.
