Dallas John Bash, 90, died at 2:32 p.m. Nov. 28, 2007, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
He was born March 5, 1917, in Forest to Guy and Etta Mae Wurtzbaugh Bash, who preceded him in death. On July 21, 1940, he married Betty L. Frost, who survives.
Mr. Bash retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad. Following his retirement, he was a bus driver for Bluffton schools. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bluffton, where he served on the church board, was an usher and had financial duties. He was a 1936 graduate of Forest High School. He was a volunteer for the Ground Observer Corps for the Air Force.
Survivors also include a daughter, Sue (Gene) Mathewson, of Bluffton; two sons, David (Karen) Bash, of Auburn, Ind., and Tony (Janet) Bash, of Houston, Texas; and nine grandchildren and 13 great -grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Bash; and four sisters, Pauline Rader; Jenny Jacobs, Lois Parcell and Sevilla Fisher.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Bluffton. The Rev. Ryan Grace and William Herr will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton.
