Roger F. Jackson, 82, died at 3:48 p.m. Jan. 27, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 30, 1925, in St. Johns to Glen I. and Flossie Beech Jackson, who preceded him in death. On March 26, 1960, he married Virginia D. "Ginny" Carroll, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Jackson retired in 1987 as a machinist from Naylor Enterprises and had been a machinist at Superior Coach. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church. He had been a member of the sheriff's auxiliary and the IOOF, Wapakoneta. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors also include two daughters, Vicki L. (Frank) Dawson, of Lima, and Sherry K. (Stuart) Foote, of Burlington, Ky.; and four grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew, Jessica and Brooke.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles William Jackson; and a sister, Dorothy Musser.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Dave Gordan will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
