MARY ELIZABETH O'NEAL, 80, died at 8:40 a.m. Jan. 3, 2007, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 9, 1926, in Jonesboro, Ga., to Neal and Dollie Irene Bankston Cook, who preceded her in death. In 1965, she married John J. O'Neal, who died in April 1996.
Mrs. O'Neal retired from Ex-Cell-O Corp. and had been a chef at the Shawnee Country Club. She was a member of the Fidelity Choir. She was an avid gardener. She loved playing bingo and cooking, especially for weddings and family reunions.
Survivors include four sons, William (Karen Sue) Sanders and Wallace C. Mann, both of Lima, Calvin L. (Carolyn Elaine) Mann, of Hilliard, and Lamar O'Neal, of Lima; a daughter, Sharon D. (Sidney) Little, of Lima; two stepdaughters, Betty L. Peterson and Nancy Howard, both of Lima; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris A. Jones, of Atlanta.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Earmon, Walter, Ernest, Nathanial, Troy, Johnnie and Jessie Cook; two sisters, Elnora Morris and Dessie Raimey; and a grandson, Kevin Little.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Cornerstone Harvest Church. Pastor David Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
