RICHARD L. MILLER Jr., 51, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Van Wert, died at 1:34 p.m. Dec. 26, 2005, at Lincolnway Nursing Home, Middle Point.

He was born Aug. 29, 1954, in Van Wert to Richard L. and Edith Sharp Miller Sr., who preceded him in death.

Mr. Miller was a contract negotiator for Marathon Oil in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Lincolnview High School and Bowling Green State University. He was a mason and volunteer for the Houston Area Women's Center for Battered Women and the United Way of Houston, Texas.

Survivors include seven nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and -nephews; and three sisters, Sandra (Fred) Clark of Lima, Barb Berryman of Middle Point, and Laurie Barker of Middle Point.

Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Rick Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
