Charles Bruce Margraves, 59, died peacefully at 5:15 a.m. Dec. 11, 2007, at Lima Memorial Health System, following a brave fight with cancer.
He was born Sept. 2, 1948, in Middlesboro, Ky., to William Wilson and Mary Marie Janeway Margraves, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Margraves had worked in customer service at Fraternal Order of Eagles 691, Wapakoneta, where he was a member. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8445, American Legion Post 330 and Loyal Order of Moose 2654, all in Wapakoneta. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include two children, Jacy (Wendy Place) Margraves, of Wapakoneta, and Courtney (Chris) Stroka, of Cape Coral, Fla.; eight siblings, Betty Gossard, of Lima, Tom Margraves, of Cridersville, Sharon "Sue" (Bill) Penland, of Lima, Mary Jo (Ryall) Howell, of Wapakoneta, Jane (Donald) Brown and Gary (Marcie) Margraves, both of Cridersville, Mike Margraves, of Lima, and Alan (Denise) Margraves, of Wapakoneta; and seven grandchildren, Taylor, Jeffrey and Olivia Stroka, Robert and Donny Kah and Tara and Amanda Skeens.
An FOE service will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will be at a later date in St. Matthew Cemetery, Cridersville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton V.A. Medical Center.
