The main library in Ottawa fulfills the needs of Putnam County for such things as genealogy research with birth records, death records, microfilmed newspapers, etc. It is also a center for redistributing the shared items for all the branches. However, it is a great advantage to each village to have its own library branch.
The various branches are beneficial to all the residents of Putnam County, but in particular to the people in their immediate vicinity. Reading materials and videos, for example, can be moved from branch to branch so it is not necessary to travel to the main library.
When doing research on any school or village in the county, the branch offers convenience and specific information for any particular town.
Please support the library levy this election.
